Before you start

This guide will show you how to retrieve your contacts from your ""Google"" account if your last phone was a smartphone. If your last phone was a non smartphone, you can copy your contacts from the SIM card. Jump to step ""11"" in this guide, if you want to copy your contacts from the SIM card. NOTICE: SCREEN IMAGES MAY DIFFER FROM YOUR ACTUAL DEVICE.

Select ""Apps""

Scroll to and select ""Settings""

Scroll to and select ""Accounts""

Select ""Google""

Select your account

Make sure ""Sync Contacts"" is selected

Select the Menu button or select ""MORE""

Note: The Menu button may be placed elsewhere on your screen or your device.

Select ""Sync now""

Your contacts from ""Google"" will now be synced to your ""Galaxy""

To copy your contacts from the SIM card, return to the Home screen and select ""Contacts""

Select ""Settings""

Select ""Contacts""

If you cannot find ""Contacts"", continue to the next step.

Select ""Import/Export contacts""

Select ""IMPORT""

If you cannot find ""IMPORT"", continue to the next step.

Select ""SIM card / Import from SIM card""

Select your ""Google"" account

Check the ""All / 0 selected"" checkbox

Select ""DONE""

Your contacts will be saved to your ""Google"" account and saved to your phone the next time ""Google"" is synced.
